The employment of nationals and foreign citizens in Uzbekistan is regulated by the Labor Code. Foreign and local companies may hire employees directly, without using employment or recruitment agencies. An employment contract may include a probationary period which cannot exceed three months. The regular working week is 40 hours. Overtime work may be allowed only with the employee’s consent.
